My stay at the Best Western Lake Buena Vista hotel in Disney Springs area – Best western lake buena vista review

So not long ago I went to Florida and the main reason being was of course to visit Disney World. This was my first time going to Florida and I wanted it to be great. For me, the hotel is a really important factor in a holiday / trip. I know some people say that a hotel is just a place to rest your head but for me it’s definitely more than that. Staying in a nice, clean hotel definitely makes a holiday more enjoyable and relaxing. When me and my fiancé were planning our trip to Disney world we knew exactly what we wanted in a Hotel. It had to be near Disney, it had to have shuttle busses to the parks and it had to be affordable. The Best Western Lake Buena Vista had all of those and more.

We decided that we were not going to stay in a Disney Resort on this trip because the Disney resorts were really expensive for a two week stay and would have cost us double or even triple what we paid. We found that for less money, we could have a bigger room and a nice size balcony if we stayed off site. That being said, I definitely would not rule out staying at a Disney Resort in the future. We came across the Best Western Lake Buena Vista hotel on Expedia and were instantly intrigued as it had a little sign on its photo saying “official Walt Disney World Hotel” which if you didn’t know already, it means that its a hotel that is partnered with Walt Disney World. This is a huge plus and is what really drew us to this hotel. Because its partnered with Disney, you get the benefits of staying in a Disney hotel but its of course a lot cheaper, since it’s still off site.

The Best Western Lake Buena Vista is a 3 star hotel located on Hotel Plaza Boulevard in the Disney Springs Resort Area. It’s only a ten minute walk to Disney Springs and has regular shuttle busses that take you to all of the Disney Parks every 30 minutes. Around this hotel there are plenty of restaurant’s and shops within walking distance. It is also close to  Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets. They offer multiple different rooms with queen beds or rooms with a king bed. You can also get a Disney View room at an extra cost. We chose the king room as there was only two of us, so we didn’t need a room with two beds. We found that the king room had a lot more space than the regular rooms. The rooms have a spacious balcony which is a lovely bonus. We loved sitting out on the balcony in the morning with a cup of coffee before we got ready for a long day in the parks.

The Room – We stayed on the eighth floor in a Deluxe king room. The room was really spacious, its the biggest hotel room I have had! It also felt really cosy even though it was large, which was nice, I think that was due to the lighting. There are four lamps in the room. A few people on trip advisor complained that the room was dull but I found I didn’t find the lighting a problem. The room wasn’t super modern or luxurious but I wasn’t expecting it to be any of those anyway. There was a coffee maker in the room and coffee was replaced every day along with some paper cups. The room also had shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and a facial wash bar. These toiletries were replaced every day too! The room had a large wardrobe with a full length mirror on it. There was a large chest of drawers and three more mirrors in the room. There was a dresser in the room with a mirror which I thought was really good, as it made it easy to get ready! The bed was HUGE and so comfortable, I never struggled to get to sleep in this bed, although the blankets were quite thin! We didn’t think to ask reception if we could have extra blankets but later found out we could have. We were always kept nice and cool with the air con which worked perfectly, although it was really noisy! Still, that didn’t stop be from going to sleep. The bathroom was private and had a bathtub and a shower. I used both the bath and shower, it was really nice to have a nice soak in the bath after a long day in the parks. The shower was super refreshing and powerful! We had a flat screen TV which had Disney channels and a few other channels, we watched Pochahontas one night after being in the parks and it was so lovely to chill on the bed watching a Disney film. One of my favourite parts of the room was the beautiful view that we had. We could see Disney Springs from our balcony and it was beautiful! The room had a huge refrigerator which was handy to keep drinks in. This room was great for the price. It had everything we need and I don’t have any complaints about it. I felt safe and comfortable.

The hotel grounds – The hotel lobby is really clean and pretty. I found it nice that they have fruit infused water in the lobby for anyone who is staying at the hotel, its the little things. Theres a Disney Store inside of the hotel which is also a nice touch. There is also a Pizza Hut, a restaurant and a mini grocery store inside of the hotel. There’s a medium sized pool which is open until 10pm and it’s heated. The pool is so relaxing on an evening when its lit up, and literally felt like a warm bath, it was so relaxing to swim in the heated pool on an evening after being at the parks.

My favourite things about the hotel

Location – The location of this hotel can not be beaten. It’s so easy to get to everywhere and getting to the parks is so easy with the shuttles that the hotel provides every 30 minutes. There are shops and restaurants near by and of course, since its in Disney springs area, you are only a short walk away from Disney Springs.

Friendly staff – The staff here are so lovely and very helpful. Nothing is too much for them. We had a lot of questions for them and they tried their best to help us and give us the best advice.

Disney hotel benefits – This is a BIG plus! Staying at this hotel you will get benefits of staying at a Disney hotel such as Extra Magic Hours and early fast passes. Early fast passes is such a blessing since popular rides like Avatars flight of passage can hard to get.

Overall this hotel is a great hotel for anyone that is visiting Disney World and is wanting to save money but still enjoy the benefits of staying at a Disney hotel.  I would definitely return to this hotel, no doubt about it! Something you should know – The hotel is currently having work done on it. They are building another tower to add to the hotel so if you stay here, you may hear some building work, although, it didn’t disturb us at all. We paid for this hotel ourselves, The hotel did not sponsor us and these reviews are my own and my honest opinion.

Thank you for reading! I hope this was helpful for someone.  Lauren xo
